Ansty Park

Project Details

Working with Allies and Morrison architects, we developed a masterplan framework for this new research and development campus that responded to the local landscape character of broadleaf woodland and small watercourses.  Creating a strong sense of place and supporting local wildlife targets, the scheme supported sustainable drainage principles and a long term management regime was designed to promote biodiversity.

Design Details

  • Clear hierarchy of campus routes and spaces – a series of courtyards with seasonal planting and shade-giving trees create attractive places for workers to relax and socialise
  • Series of bioswales and naturalistic planting through car parks help to promote sustainable drainage systems by replicating natural systems – collecting, storing and cleaning water before slowly releasing it back into the local watercourses
  • Native woodland and wildflower grassland to perimeter of site to blend proposals into surrounding woodland setting
  • Realignment and naturalisation of the River Brent and creation of new riverside park environment with wetland areas, bird habitats and reedbed planting
