Assembly is a new mixed-use waterfront development in the heart of Bristol, delivering 320,000sqft of contemporary workplace across three buildings, located around a series of new public realm spaces.
Working alongside AHMM Architects, we have worked to weave a series of new landscaped spaces across multiple levels that celebrate the scheme’s waterside location.
The landscape concept draws on the local industrial landscapes associated with Bristol’s iconic Floating Harbour, which runs alongside the site.
A new 5000sqft rooftop garden spills out from the top floor Club Room of Building C, with stunning views over Bristol’s skyline. A rich palette of seasonal planting and a range of seating options creates a tranquil setting for people to relax and to socialise, as well as space for hosting events.
The scheme delivers a thriving workplace with a real emphasis on staff wellbeing, through public and communal garden spaces, a public restaurant, south facing balconies and ‘best in class’ cycle and changing facilities.
A new pocket park between the buildings overlooks the water and connects into the reinstated Cheese Lane – the first time in 50 years that the historic lane has been open as a public right of way.
Along this route, Alex Chinneck’s playful sculptures bring a playful addition to the street, transforming familiar features of the public realm into surreal and surprising landmarks.
We’re proud to have helped support the scheme to achieve BREEAM ‘Excellent’ and a ‘Well Platinum’ certification.
