Perched on Bristol’s Floating Harbour, 1 Passage Street is focused on creating a carbon neutral, best in class, green workspace on the waterside. Next door to the iconic Cheese Lane Shot Tower and our Assembly project, the scheme looks to embrace its relationship with the city and the water, creating a new sustainable office destination within Bristol.
The building designed by AWW is peeled back at different levels, with a series of green terraces cascading down the façade, each with views out over the water.
At ground level, a new pedestrian route will connect to Bristol Temple Meads, Finzels Reach and beyond, with a Pocket Park opening up the public realm and providing direct access to the Harbourside. The street frontage designs aim to provide a green entrance to the scheme, with retained willow trees anchoring the corner of the structure and a cafe terrace providing a sheltered spot overlooking the water.
On the top roof level, a series of bio-solar roofs will provide extensive wildlife habitat within the heart of the city.
The project will offer a best-in-class workspace with BREEAM Outstanding, WELL Platinum, 3 Star Fitwel, EPC A, Nabers 5*, Smart Score and Whole Life Carbon Zero (embodied and operational) credentials.
